Grande homenagem a Max em Outubro

Núcleo formado pelos fadistas Carlos Amaral e Manuela Nobre e por Rogério Sousa





Maximiano de Sousa, conhecido por todos como Max, receberá no próximo mês de Outubro «a merecida homenagem pública, regional e nacional», por ter sido um dos representantes máximos da canção, do humorismo e do próprio Fado.
As datas do evento “Max-A Grande Homenagem” ainda estão dependentes das entidades nacionais e regionais, mas tudo aponta para a terceira semana do mês de Outubro. Para a realização do programa, foi constituído o Núcleo de Homenagem ao Max que é formado pelos fadistas Carlos Amaral e Manuela Nobre e ainda pelo jurista Rogério Sousa. Este grupo tem como «objectivo o de levar a cabo a grande homenagem à figura de Maximiano de Sousa, o grande Max que, penso eu, como milhares de portugueses, nunca foi homenageado categoricamente e que está esquecido, sendo apenas lembrado com a “Mula da Cooperativa”», lamentou Carlos Amaral.
Para a consagração definitiva da figura de Max, o Núcelo enviou um pedido à Presidência da República para que o artista madeirense seja agraciado, a título póstumo, com uma Ordem Honorífica, «não inferior à que foi entregue à grande diva do fado, Amália Rodrigues». Será ainda solicitado ao representante da República na Madeira, que esta cerimónia de entrega da comenda seja feita no Palácio de São Lourenço.



A colocação de lápides no edifício onde Max nasceu e uma outra onde viveu está no programa de actividades, bem como a deslocalização da estátua do artista situada na Zona Velha da cidade. Carlos Amaral salienta que esta mudança é essencial, porque neste momento não se está a dignificar o artista, «não por culpa do Governo Regional, porque a escultura está esplêndida, mas pela localização, por isso irá ficar à entrada da Zona Velha, junto à muralha, virada para a Rua D. Carlos I». A figura de Max está incontornavelmente ligada àquela zona da cidade, porque foi ali que viveu, trabalhou, começou a vida de artista «e experimentou os primeiros sinais de uma morte desonrosa», pois «o seu povo não o ajudou». Então, acrescentou, «damos uma oportunidade à Região de prestar a mail alta expressão da homenagem», salientou Carlos Amaral.
A iniciativa terá como pontos altos dois espectáculos no Teatro Baltazar Dias com «muitas surpresas», disse Carlos Amaral sem querer adiantar mais. Os eventos serão abertos a convidados e à população em geral, «porque esta homenagem é de todos e para todos e para ele em específico».
Um blog sobre a iniciativa (http://maximianodesousa.wordpress.com) foi ainda criado e foi também solicitado à presidência do Governo Regional um dia de tolerância de ponto ou feriado em honra de Max. Tudo para enaltecer um homem humilde que «pedia licença para cantar e desculpava-se por ter cantado». Assim era Max antes e depois dos seus espectáculos, mas que fez 170 letras sem saber escrever. “Pomba Branca”, como símbolo de liberdade, será o hino deste grande acontecimento.
